AUSTIN, TEXAS (February 9, 2023) — Moontower Just For Laughs AUSTIN festival is pleased to announce that even more of comedy’s brightest stars will be performing at this year’s two-week comedy event taking place in over 10+ venues citywide for two weeks between April 12-23. 2023 and featuring original shows, live podcast recordings, fabulous drag queens, Spanish stand-up acts and more. A host of new international and local talent will now be joining previously announced hilarious heavyweights Trevor Noah, Seth Myers, Chelcie Lynn, Ben Schwartz and Friends, Vir Das, Giggly Squad, Nimesh Patel to round out Austin’s can’t-miss-comedy experience.

New headliners now coming to the Paramount Theatre include Saturday Night Live alum, stand-up comedian, recent Daily Show guest-host Leslie Jones; actor, comedian and recently Oscar-nominated for the hit film MARCEL THE SHELL, Jenny Slate and Samantha Bee, known for her critically acclaimed show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Ziwe host and producer of Showtime’s late-night talk show Ziwe; and drag queen Monét X Change, who you may remember from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars are also on tap for the Paramount. Megan Stalter (Hacks), Patti Harrison (I Think You Should Leave), and Sarah Sherman (Saturday Night Live ) will head to the stage to perform together as a trio.

New acts now performing at The State Theatre include previous SNL cast member and a hilarious stand-up comedian, actor, impressionist and rapper Jay Pharoah, purple puppet Australian comedy sensation, Randy Feltface, and fellow performer on NBC’s Bring the Funny, Matt Rife, also known for his self-produced comedy special Only Fans.

Each year at Moontower Just For Laughs AUSTIN much of the magic is found in the club shows at venues around town, like Cap City Comedy Club, which this year plays host to plenty of must-see comics from America’s Got Talent favorite and “golden buzzer” recipient Mike E. Winfield, and Mark Smalls, cohost of the Country Club Adjacent podcast; to Judy Gold, host of the Kill Me Now podcast.

Also performing as part of the club shows are Ashley Gavin, host of the We’re Having Gay Sex podcast; marblemedia’s hit Netflix reality show Drink Masters host, Tone Bell, and star of ABC‘s Emmy award-winning sitcom Abbott Elementary, Lisa Ann Walter, along with British comedy favorite and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Dane Baptise, and Shalewa Sharpe, who’s bringing the one-person show, Dulce Sloan presents Don’t Reach in the Bag with Shalewa Sharpe.

New acts being added to the festival’s growing list of live podcasts and original shows include Bein’ Ian with Jordan Jensen and Ian Fidance, Dumb People Town with The Sklar Brothers and Daniel Van Kirk, That’s Messed Up with Liza Treyger and Klara Klank, Y’all Gay with Ali Clayton and Ever Mainard, and Robert Kelly’s You Know What Dude! This new lineup also introduces more of Austin’s funniest comedians including Vanessa Gonzalez, Avery Moore, and recent “Funniest Person in Austin” winner Tyler Groce.

Attendees can build their own experience with this year’s badge options. Each “Club Badge” gets you access to all club shows—star-studded showcases, stand-up, podcasts, screenings, panels, and more—plus nightly parties and lounges during the 4-day comedy binge from April 19-22, while giving you early access to purchase tickets to headliner shows in the largest venues, including Paramount and State.
