Born in Toronto to Sudanese parents and then raised in Alberta, Faris brings a unique mix of storytelling and observational humour to the stage. Known for his relaxed delivery, honest storytelling and quick wit, his unpredictable style makes for big laughs and unforgettable crowd work moments.
Faris partnered with Telus STORYHIVE to film Telus' first ever comedy special, SEND HELP, released in February 2023 on Stream+ and YouTube. Since, Faris was named in the Hollywood Reporter as a New Face of Comedy with Just For Laughs, and featured at the JFL Festivals in Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver along with CBC’s Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals and the HubCap Comedy Festival in Moncton, NB. By just his 4th year in comedy, Faris had played in every televised comedy festival in the country. He’s now toured all over Canada and has worked with the likes of Hasan Minhaj, Christina P, Russell Peters, Neal Brennan, Kyle Kinane, Mo Amer and more. You can hear Faris on the Just For Laughs: Originals album, Substitute Teacher Energy, and on the hit radio show The Debaters on CBC. In 2025, Faris made his 2nd appearance at JFL, taping season 5 of Roast Battles Canada on Crave TV, and was named among the Best of the Fest in Montreal. He also released his second album, homesick, on Sirius XM and all audio streaming services.
In film and TV, Faris made his acting debut in the short film Open Mic at the Comedy Cabaret, which was featured at the Calgary International Film Festival. He made his television debut at JFL Vancouver; headlining an episode of CBC’s New Wave of Standup, in the show’s fifth season.
