CRAIG FERGUSON HOSTS AN INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF COMEDY

Hey guys

The host of The Late Late Show on CBS killed last night as he hosted the mega gala INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF COMEDY. He opened by talking about why and how happy he is to be in Montreal, being a father, and more. The crowd loved him and his charming, funny and insane antics. Ferguson was as loose as he is on his own CBS late night show, and so at ease with the audience. Craig was the perfect host and one of the best the Gala series has seen this year.

Craig brought an amazing international line-up that represented various countries including Ryan Belleville who rep'd Canada.

The show’s significance was of course to make the audience laugh and have a great time but also for Ferguson to help pay it forward to his fellow international comedians looking to become North American household names like him.

The line-up included:

  • DANNY BHOY
  • ADAM HILLS
  • RUSSELL HOWARD
  • NINA CONTIN
  • RYAN BELLEVILLE
  • RANDY KAGAN

Danny Bhoy and Adam were each loved by audiences for their charm and quick wit. Belleville also brought a youthful energy and hip vibe that the audience seemed to like.

The show itself ran extremely well and was definitely a top gala choice of mine. For me it came down to the host. Ferguson knows how to do a show. He hosts one every night on CBS and he's really the best bet to move a show along. His general relaxed tone and demeanor set the show up to succeed and it went off amazingly well.

This is my first year seeing galas and I have to say I really liked them. The comedy is great but even more so it’s the big show feel. The production is world class, from the music, opening video that actually gets the audience in the theatre on their feet (happened at every gala I saw) and the general pure energy that these galas bring was incredibly impressive.

Just For Laughs 2011 was an amazing festival full of incredible comedians, artists, acts and sights. From huge names like Russell Peters and Eric Stonestreet to more edgy and on the cusp of fame performers who were part of Zoofest comedy, the festival had something for everyone.

Hannibal Buress, Modi, and Ari Shaffir definitely for me really stood out as must see shows and artists. I have to say, I have really enjoyed covering this fest for you. It's over tonight but I hope I have the chance to keep doing this for you guys.

Check out my special final blog for now post coming soon... I think it deserves it's own post :)
