Jardin Mécanique is a musical trio mixing visual arts and drama. On stage, the three performers—singers, musicians and actors at the same time—tell a dark and satirical story throughout their songs. With their gritty rock opera, they mock the drawbacks of the Industrial Revolution, displaying sometimes a splendour worthy of Disney’s fairytales and leading sometimes the audience to witness one of the more intense progressive music.
Influenced by Steampunk aesthetics, the band presents a complex world and is joined on stage by different kinds of artists. Planning every single detail of their performance, they encourage thinking creatively. The right balance between makeup, costumes, scenery, video projections and musical arrangements insure the band to achieve a crazy piece of art where dark humour and caricature are farce foundations.
Their world and their characters spread off-stage and can also be found on different supports: jewellery, beers and comics.
