Matt Gehring

Matt Gehring is a performer and writer in New York City.  He recently booked a recurring role on Amazon’s “The Tick” and the comedic feature film “Set It Up.”  Matt graduated NYU Tisch's Experimental Theater Wing, where he was a writer/performer with Hammerkatz.  Currently, Matt performs his writing at the UCBT-NY and other comedy stages in New York.  He is a member of Political Subversities, which was recently awarded a video-residency at the YouTube Next Lab and has performed their musical sketch on the prestigious Joe's Pub and Ars Nova stages.  Other shows Matt writes, performs, or directs are Simon’s Street (UCB), Maude Night (UCB), One Man RadioLab (SOLOCOM), Pop Roulette (UCB) and OSFUG (UCB).  He can be seen in recent episodes of Netflix’s “The Characters” and Adult Swim’s “Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter."  Matt has also been seen on Louis CK's FX show “Louie” and once played (and lost) charades with Jennifer Aniston on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
